Through on-site training & independent study, health care professionals and others can learn how to teach prenatal or newly delivered families to massage their newborns. After completing a Baby's First Massage Instructor Training course you will be able to teach in small groups with newborns and their caregivers, or in large groups using role- playing and hands-on practice with dolls.

Register for the hands on certification session and you will receive the home study kit containing an instructor's manual, a VHS or DVD training video, The Loving Your Newborn: Intuitive Touch" video and 2 copies of the parent teaching booklet. Complete the posttest, training outline, one practice session using your doll and come to class.
At class I will review all the massage strokes with you, show you how much pressure to use, answer any questions about the posttest, and offer a real live demonstration class. I will also focuses on marketing techniques to help you successfully incorporate Baby's First Massage into your practice. Additionally, I share with you positive parenting skills such as interpreting crying and responding appropriately, how to comfort a baby, and when to wait to give massage. You will then have an opportunity to practice your teaching skills using your baby doll. Throughout the training, the message of how to communicate through touch is permeated with the love and valuing of life, the importance and joy of listening to babies, and how to approach this powerful but simple interaction with great respect.

For the busy professional who wishes to work at home to complete the required course materials without the hands on teaching and classroom experience.
Register for the Independent Study and you will receive the home study kit containing an instructor's manual, a VHS or DVD training video, The Loving Your Newborn: Intuitive Touch" video and 2 copies of the parent teaching booklet.
Complete the post-test, training outline, independent practice sessions and submit all required materials to Baby's First Massage for approval and certification.

The on-site workshop is 9.8 hours long, and is hosted by hospitals and massage schools, primarily. At class you will receive instruction on the benefits of newborn massage, when to massage, contraindications and important parental issues & concerns. You will receive the instructor's manual, a VHS or DVD training video, and 1 copy of the parent-teaching booklet.
After class complete the posttest, training outline and practice sessions, and submit all required materials to Baby's First Massage for approval and certification.
Nurses and Massage Therapists can earn a total of 9.8 educational contact hours by completing the on site workshop, and 22 with completion of the post class certification.
